Areas of Research:
1. Physical and mental diseases of the digestive system
Such diseases in the digestive system have 2 main categories: organic diseases of the digestive system with mental disorders, and digestive functional disorders associated with mental disorders. My research mainly focuses on the latter, especially Functional Dyspepsia with anxiety, depression or other mental disorders. Such diseases feature high incidence rate, large social impact. Because the pathogenesis is still unclear, the clinical treatment is difficult and the efficacy unsatisfactory. Therefore it is desired to study the drug clinical efficacy and mechanism, including my ongoing research on the diseases’ neurotransmission, nerve conduction, and nerve immunization.
2. Fatty liver disease
Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases feature a high incidence rate in China. It is the primary cause of cirrhosis, liver cancer, and other end-stage liver diseases, therefore has a considerable negative social impact. My current research in this area includes the study of the progressive mechanism from alcohol to liver diseases, the insulin resistance and the meditating role of adipocytokine in non-alcoholic liver dieseases, as well as the mechanism and effect of the Chinese medicine in reversing fatty liver diseases.
3. Helicobacter pylori
Over 50% of the Chinese population are infected by the helicobacter pylori. It is highly related to the incidence of atrophic gastritis and gastric cancer. Its radical treatment has extensive drug resistance (XDR). My research in this area includes local Helicobacter pylori infection and its drug resistance mechanism.
