Qiu Jingfu has been appointed as the vice president of Chongqing Medical University in 2023.
He is the dean of College of Public Health, academic head of the discipline of Public Health and Preventive Medicine in Chongqing, and a leading talent of Chongqing Talent Plan for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He is also the vice chairman of the 6th Chongqing Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, a representative of the 5th Chongqing People's Congress, and a standing committee member of the 6th Chongqing CPPCC.
His research interests is preventive medicine education and Environmental Microbiology and Health. As the key researcher, he has participated in the research of National High-tech R&D Programme (863 Programme), key projects and general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). His major academic positions include deputy chairman of the Health Inspection Sub-Committee of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, standing director of the Public Health Education Special Committee of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, and vice chairman of the Chongqing Preventive Medicine Association.
