Recently, Chongqing Bureau of Science and Technology and Chongqing Municipal Health Commission has approved the establishment of Seven Chongqing Research Centers of Clinical Medicine( hereinafter referred to as "Center" or "Centers") at the affiliated hospitals of Chongqing Medical University. The First Affiliated Hospital of CQMU was approved to establish four Centers of Otorhinolaryngology Diseases, Pathological Diagnosis, Acute and Severe Diseases, and Ophthalmologic Diseases, respectively. The First Affiliated Hospital and University-Town Hospital of CQMU were approved to jointly establish Center of Psychiatric and Psychological Disorders. The Second Affiliated Hospital of CQMU was approved to establish Center for Nephrosis and Urinary System Diseases. Yongchuan Hospital of CQMU was approved to establish Center for Senile Diseases. CQMU has been approved to establish 13 Centers in total so far.
The developmen of Chongqing Research Centers of Clinical Medicine provides a major platform to implement innovative strategies for science and technology. This is an indispensable step to apply basic scientific discoveries and cutting-edge technological research results on clinical practice.
Recent years has witnessed great importance attached by CQMU and its affiliated hospitals to scientific and technological innovation. While strengthening management for scientific and research projects, CQMU and its affiliated hospitals have also made great efforts to build platforms for scientific and technological innovation. The approval of the seven Centers has further enriched the structure of research platforms of CQMU, which will boost the development of relevant disciplines and scientific research and greatly enhance the innovative capability of CQMU and its affiliated hospitals in science and technology.
