A research team, led by Professor Xiao Xiaoqiu' from the First Affiliated Hospital of CQMU, published a paper entitled “The choline metabolite TMAO inhibits NETosis and promotes placental development in GDM of humans and mice“ in Diabetes, a globally-noted journal in the field of metabolic diseases. The research found that the nutrient metabolite trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO) is associated with placental and fetal development in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) under the condition of high nutritional state. Lin Xiaojing, a postdoc from the First Affiliated Hospital of CQMU, is the first author. Professor Xiao Xiaoqiu is the corresponding author.
