    Received its first impact factor of 4.803, ranking in Q1

    Clarivate Analytics released the 2019 Journal Citation Report (JCR) on June 29. Genes & Diseases, an English open access journal sponsored by Chongqing Medical University, received its first impact factor of 4.803 and ranked in Q1 globally in Genetics & Heredity and Biochemistry & Molecular Biology in the JCR.

    Founded in September 2014, Genes & Diseases is an independent journal sponsored by Chongqing Medical University, making it the first English-language journal that comprehensively combines molecular medicine and translational medicine. It is co-edited by Professor Huang Ai-Long of Chongqing Medical University and Professor He Tongchuan of the University of Chicago and published by Elsevier, an international publisher. In 2019, it was included in the SCI (Science Citation Index). It was selected by the High-Starting-Point New Journal Program of the "China Science and Technology Journal Excellent Action Program," marking that Genes & Diseases has officially become a member of the world-class journals supported by China.

    Genes & Diseases focuses on the pathogenesis of human diseases and advances in precision medicine and mainly publishes high-quality reviews and articles in related fields. Its editorial board comprises 176 well-known domestic and foreign experts from 18 countries, including the United States, Canada, Britain, France, and Germany. By now, 24 consecutive issues have been published with 272 high-quality articles. And well-known experts at home and abroad have been invited to publish special issues, including Special Issue on Cancer Metabolism, Special Issue on Epigenetics and Human Diseases, Special Issue on Primary Immunodeficiency Diseases, etc. The journal is engaged in academic exchanges, and its organizing committee has hosted the International Symposium on Genes and Diseases for four consecutive years.

    Genes & Diseases highly values international cooperation with the concept that quality is life. Since the establishment, it has been strongly supported by CQMU, the editorial board, and scholars. The Genes & Diseases journal's editorial board has selected ten highly cited articles to review and share the scholars' academic contributions.
