    Children's Hospital Approved for a National Key R&D Program of China

    The research application on “Key Technologies and Applications of Standardized Child Patient Model” led by researcher Zhao Yao of Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University was approved as a National Key R&D Program of China.

    Led by the Children's Hospital, the program involves nine other institutions including Southern Medical University, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), Anhui iFLYHealth Co., Ltd., Chongqing CloudWalk Technology Co., Ltd., Tsinghua University, Chongqing University, Children's Hospital of Fudan University, Wuhan Talent Information Technology Co., Ltd., and Nanjing cStor Technology Co., Ltd. The program focuses on the major needs of primary care physicians for pediatric competence training, assessment and improvement tools. It is proposed to conduct research and application of key technologies of standardized child patient model, with the goal of breaking new ground in fundamental theory, key technologies, and systematic application. The first standardized child patient model in China is expected to be established to simulate the real diagnosis and treatment procedures for child patients. It is expected to provide efficient, large-scale and low-cost application and assessment services for boosting pediatric competence of primary care physicians through systematic popularization and application evaluation with demonstration.
