    Chongqing Medical University Hosted the 6th “111 Plan” International Collaborative Innovation Symposium on Maternal-Fetal Medicine and the 3rd Symposium on Metabolism and Diseases

    From 11th to 13th October, 2023, the 6th "111 Plan" International Collaborative Innovation Symposium on Maternal-Fetal Medicine and the 3rd Symposium on Metabolism and Diseases were hosted by Chongqing Medical University and co-organized by the Obstetrics Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of CQMU at the Chongqing Great Wall Hotel. The "111 Plan", based on the Obstetrics Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of CQMU, has passed the phased evaluation this year. Twenty-one renowned experts and scholars from China and abroad, including YANG Zhu, Vice President of CQMU, and the Vice President of the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom, attended the opening ceremony. Professor ZHANG Hua from the Obstetrics Department presided over the opening ceremony.

    At the the 6th "111 Plan" International Collaborative Innovation Symposium on Maternal-Fetal Medicine held on October 11th, several domestic and international scholars successively delved into topics such as gestational diabetes, hypertensive disorders in pregnancy, twin pregnancies, and metabolomics. They shared their research findings and actively engaged in discussions and interactions with scholars and experts present at the event.




    This symposium not only showcased and summarized the latest achievements of our university's relevant experts, but also promoted in-depth academic exchanges with experts from both domestic and international arenas. Discussions on the future direction of development were held, which has contributed significantly to the advancement of our university's research in maternal-fetal medicine.

    Over the past 7 years, the development of the "Maternal-Fetal Medicine Innovation and Intelligence Introduction Base" has achieved fruitful results. Through close collaboration and joint efforts between the foreign expert team and the obstetrics team of the First Affiliated Hospital of CQMU, the base has made outstanding achievements in team and platform construction, research funds, international talent introduction, domestic and international exchange cooperation, and graduate student training. It has established three research directions at the forefront of the international level, formed three strong research teams, and has successfully applied for the establishment of the "Key Maternal-Fetal Medicine Laboratory of Chongqing".
