Chongqing Medical University convened the 2023 Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum on October 18, 2023, at the International Conference Hall of Yuanjiagang Campus. This forum aimed to further enhance academic exchanges, foster enthusiasm for the translation of postdoctoral research achievements, and create an environment conducive to postdoctoral innovation and entrepreneurship. The forum invited CHANG Yu, a distinguished professor from the Children's Hospital of Zhejiang University, ZHANG Cheng, Associate Professor at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and WANG Xiaolin, Vice Chairman of Chongqing ZEIN Biotechnology Co., Ltd., to share their experiences in transforming and commercializing research results. The forum was hosted by Vice President of CQMU, Prof. TIAN Jie.
Prof. TIAN Jie delivered a welcome speech on behalf of CQMU, providing a brief overview of the initiatives, accomplishments, and direction of the university's postdoctoral programme. Prof. ZHANG Cheng gave a presentation on fatty liver disease, titled "Exploring Novel Approaches to Treating Fatty Liver Disease using Systems Biology Methods". With the title "Transforming Prototype Principles into Medical Devices," Prof. CHANG Yu presented successful cases of MyoRecoverTM LiveHeart10 and ECMO and showcased the transformation resource architecture for medical devices. Under the theme of "Opportunities and Challenges of Universities in the Tide of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Pharmaceutical Industry," Ms. Wang Xiaolin discussed the definition of innovation and entrepreneurship, their role in the pharmaceutical industry as well as the opportunities and challenges universities face in this field. After the presentation session, several postdoctoral fellows engaged in in-depth discussions with the guest speakers.
The forum had a welcoming and engaging atmosphere, offering valuable resources and novel concepts for scientific researchers to apply in their work. The university aims to establish diverse communication platforms through this forum to foster enthusiasm for the transformation of scientific research achievements and expedite their implementation.
