On October 15, 2024, a research team led by Distinguished Professor DING Yinyuan, from the Centre for Lipid Research at Chongqing Medical University (CQMU), published their latest findings in the internationally renowned journal Advanced Science (recognized as a top-tier journal in Q1 by the Chinese Academy of Sciences). The paper, titled “Loss of LRP1 Promotes Hepatocellular Carcinoma Progression via UFL1-Mediated Activation of NF-kB Signaling,” unveils the role and molecular mechanisms of low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 1 (LRP1) in the pathogenesis and progression of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
This groundbreaking discovery deepens our understanding of the novel oncogenic functions of the traditional lipid metabolism regulator LRP1. It highlights the therapeutic potential of LRP1 in HCC and provides fresh insights into the intricate interplay between metabolic regulation and tumor development.
