On March 10, 2025, the Summit Forum on the Intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Biomedical ,co-sponsored by Biomedical Pioneering Innovation Center of Peking University and the Chongqing Bioinformatics Society, and organized by the Scientific Research Management Office and College of Basic Medicine of Chongqing Medical University, was held at the Yuanjiagang Campus of CQMU. Centered on the theme "AI Empowers Medicine, Innovation Drives Health," the conference convened national talents, clinical experts, and industry elites to establish a interdisciplinary dialogue platform. Participants focused on cutting-edge technological breakthroughs, industry challenges, and collaborative exploration of frontier trends and practical pathways for the integrated development of artificial intelligence (AI) and biomedical sciences.
Professor LI Huabing, Vice President of Chongqing Medical University, delivered a keynote speech on behalf of the university. He briefly reviewed the innovation and development journey of the university from its establishment to the present, highlighting the transition from a tradition of long-term medical education to the creation of nunerous national,, provincial, and ministerial-level R&D institutions and innovative systems. He also emphasized the vigorous implementation of a “strengthening the university through talent” strategy, continuous optimization of policies for attracting high-level talent, with the aim of building a globally competitive medical innovation hub. He expected participating experts, scholars, and students to leverage this forum as an opportunity to deepen cross-disciplinary integration, accelerate the transformation of scientific achievements, enhance mutual understanding, consolidate collaborative efforts to jointly advance the high-quality development of artificial intelligence and biomedical sciences.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Professor WEN Bo from Chongqing Medical University, Professor SHU Kunxian from Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and Professor RAN Longke and Professor HOU Yu from Chongqing Medical University.
As a high-caliber academic event at the intersection of artificial intelligence and biomedical, this summit forum has opened innovative pathways for cross-disciplinary integration and technological exploration in China. It not only established an efficient collaboration bridge between academia and industry but also injected new impetus into the implementation of the "Healthy China" initiative by fostering synergistic innovation.
