In an effort to accelerate the construction of a modern industrial college for biomedicine and innovate talent cultivation models through industry-education integration, Vice-President Qiu Jinfu of Chongqing Medical University led a delegation, including Mr Liu Yang, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office, and Professor Chen Tingmei, Dean of the College of Laboratory Medicine, to conduct a special survey at Zybio Inc. on the morning of 16 April 2025. The survey was also attended by Mr Ji Quan, Chairman of Zybio Inc., and Ms Li Ping, Deputy Director of the Smart Healthcare Special Task Force of Dadukou District. The symposium was chaired by Mr Cao Yan, Head of the General Manager’s Office of Zybio Inc.

Prior to the symposium, Vice-President Qiu and his delegation visited the R&D centre, instrument manufacturing plant, biotechnology park, and the exhibition hall of the company's headquarters to gain an in-depth understanding of the company's technological innovation and industrial development in the field of in vitro diagnostics.

At the symposium, Mr Ji extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He highly praised the achievements of Chongqing Medical University in talent cultivation, particularly noting that graduates from the university have become the backbone of the company's development.

Mr Cao provided a detailed introduction to the fruitful outcomes of the university-enterprise cooperation. Professor Chen reported on the progress of the construction of the modern industrial college for biomedicine. Ms Li stated that the district government will continue to support the construction of the university-enterprise cooperation platform, providing guarantees for talent cultivation in the industry and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and promoting high-quality development of the regional smart healthcare industry. Mr Liu emphasised that the construction of the modern industrial college is an important practice for deepening industry-education integration and innovating talent cultivation models. Through a collaborative mechanism where "enterprises pose questions and universities provide answers," both parties will jointly tackle the "bottleneck" technological challenges.

In his concluding remarks, Vice-President Qiu expressed gratitude to the Dadukou District government and Zybio Inc. for their long-term support. He pointed out that the university will take the construction of the modern industrial college as an opportunity to deepen the integration of industry and education, and to integrate the cultivation of medical laboratory technology talents deeply into the industrial chain, in line with the "two-wing" talent development strategy for medical laboratory technology. This will effectively enhance students' innovative and practical abilities and serve the local economic and social development.

The survey laid a solid foundation for further deepening university-enterprise cooperation and advancing the construction of the modern industrial college.
