On the morning of October 27, a grand ceremony was held to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the founding of the university in Tongsheng Auditorium, Jinyun Campus, Chongqing Medical University.
Attending the ceremony were university leadership, administrative departments and colleges, representatives of alumni, faculty and students from CQMU, leadership and members of its affiliated hospitals, and fellow colleagues from Fudan University and Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University. President Huang Ailong presided over the ceremony.
Huang extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to all those who cared for the development of CQMU. He also paid high tribute to seniors and retired old comrades who had made outstanding contributions to the founding and development of the university. While recalling the university's founding history, Huang applauded the pioneers for their great contributions to medical education and healthcare in western China.
Professor Ma Yingxue, former Head of the Geriatrics Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of CQMU, witnessed the entire process of the westward relocation of Shanghai First Medical College to establish Chongqing Medical College. She delivered a speech as a representative of the old comrades who participated in the westward relocation.
