On December 20, 2021, the 2021 Journal Ranking of the National Science Library, Chinese Academy of Sciences was released. Genes & Diseases, a bimonthly journal sponsored by CQMU, rose to Q1 level in Medicine (Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, ranking: 48/298) and Genetics (Genetics & Heredity, ranking: 19/175). According to the 2020 SCI Journal Citation Report (JCR) released by Clarivate Analytics on June 30, 2021, the impact factor (IF) of Genes & Diseases reached 7.103, up by 47.89%.
The journal has continued to grow in influence and received an increasing number of submissions since its launch. Publications include original articles, reviews, rapid communication, news, commentary, and research watch. The Editors-in-Chief are Professor Huang Ailong, President of CQMU, and Professor He Tong-Chuan He, University of Chicago.
