    British Ambassador visited the University

    Her Excellency Ms Caroline Wilson, British Ambassador to China, visited the University for further cooperation.

    Her Excellency Ms Caroline Wilson and her delegation were warmly welcomed by President Huang Ailong and Vice President Tian Jie on July 14.

    Having exchanged greetings, Vice President Tian guided the delegation to the University History Exhibition Hall, where the docent briefly introduced the founding history of the University.

    They then visited the Digital Experience Area of the University Library for activities including VR surgery, introduced by the Deputy Librarian Ms Liu Ying.

    Following the tour, they had a meeting with President Huang and Vice President Tian, along with Ms Wang Yu, the Director of Foreign Affairs Office, and Ms Li Min, the Vice Dean of International Medical College.

    President Huang introduced the current Joint Education Programme in Clinical Medicine of Chongqing Medical University and the University of Leicester, and expressed his expectations for more joint efforts in training leading medical talents and expanding collaborations.

    Her Excellency Ms Caroline Wilson hoped to explore and promote the exchange between UK and China in the area of health and international medical education. She showed her support for the partnership between the University of Leicester and Chongqing Medical University, and ardently invited CQMU to participate in the UK-China forum on joint education.

    Along with the British Ambassador were Mr Stephen Ellison, British Consul-General in Chongqing, and Mr Rajdeep Maan, Commercial Consul of the British Consulate General in Chongqing.
