    International Training Workshop on Focused Ultrasound Therapy for Tumors Supported by Ministry of Science and Technology of China Successfully Held in Malacca, Malaysia

    Hosted by the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, China Science and Technology Exchange Centre, and Chongqing Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, jointly organized by Chongqing Medical University and Mahkota Medical Centre, and co-organized by the State Key Laboratory of Ultrasound in Medicine and Engineering, and Chongqing High Technology Incubator Centre Co., Ltd. (Chongqing International Science and Technology Exchange Centre), the opening ceremony of the International Training Workshop on Focused Ultrasound Therapy for Tumors was held in Mahkota Medical Centre in the afternoon of November 13. This was the first training workshop for developing countries that was held abroad and offline by the Ministry of Science and Technology since 2020.



    Liu Hua, First-level Investigator of the General and Planning Division of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, Zhang Tianhang, Second Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, Zha Li, Director of the Science and Technology Cooperation Division of Chongqing Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Tian Jie, Vice President of Chongqing Medical University, Wang Zhibiao, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Ultrasound in Medicine and Engineering, Sevellaraja Supermaniam, Chairman of the Main Committee of the APAGE-OGSM-ISMIVS Conference for Minimally Invasive and Non-invasive Surgery (Malaysia), and Chin Wei Jia, President of Health Management International Pte Ltd and others attended the opening ceremony online and offline. 25 clinicians from 11 countries, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Egypt, Ethiopia, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, Thailand, Nepal, Tanzania and Mexico, received a 15-day clinical application training in focused ultrasound therapy.

    Since 2012, Chongqing Medical University, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, has held a series of 8 training courses on focused ultrasound ablation in China, Egypt, South Africa and Malaysia, with 174 well-known clinicians from more than 40 countries participating.
