    2023 International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application (Chongqing) ​Opens

    On 11th October, 2023, the 2023 International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application (Chongqing) was held at the Yuanjiagang Campus of Chongqing Medical University. The Conference was hosted by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission and the National Centre for Schooling Development Programme of the Ministry of Education, and jointly organized by Chongqing Medical University, Chongqing University, Southwest University, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and Chongqing Jiaotong University. Under the theme of “Industry, education, research, and application empower new capabilities and pool strength to promote development”, the conference focused on three key directions: 'Biomedicine', 'Intelligent Construction and Manufacturing' and 'New Generation Information Technology'. Experts, scholars, as well as teacher and student representatives from domestic and international universities, enterprises, and research institutes participated in the opening ceremony and the main forum.

    Dr. LIU Yanbing, the Director of the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission, emphasized in his speech that Chongqing attaches great importance to scientific research and innovation in universities, and is actively building a collaborative education model with deep integration of scientific education and industry education through multi-directional efforts. This conference is a crucial opportunity for Chongqing to enhance open collaboration in education. It is an innovative measure to promote an in-depth integration of industry, education, and research, and which marks a new starting point for Chongqing to explore the integrated development of education, technology, and talent. Dr. LIU hopes that all universities, scientific research institutes, and enterprises would adhere to the ‘Triple Integration’ approach, by promoting education, technology, and talent as one cohesive unit, continuously deepening the integration of innovative talent training throughout the entire cycle, integrating an innovation platform service between these associated parts, and guaranteeing an innovative ecosystem throughout the whole system, which will inject strong momentum into the development of a new and modern Chongqing.

    President HUANG Ailong of Chongqing Medical University delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony, where he stressed that CQMU would continue to promote in-depth international collaboration in industry, education, research and application, as well as provide important technological support and talent guarantee for medical innovation and international scientific research cooperation. Meanwhile, he encouraged attendees, experts, and scholars to collaborate and contribute their collective wisdom to further deepen and strengthen the international cooperation in industry, education, research, and application.

    The three key directions of ‘Biomedicine’, ‘Intelligent Construction and Manufacturing’ and ‘New Generation Information Technology’ were selected for the conference. Over 160 well-known experts and scholars from around the world and more than 440 representatives from universities and enterprises attended the conference. The conference featured 7 working sessions, hosting a series of academic lectures, aiming to connect industrial cooperation through academic seminars, and continue to promote innovative development in the fields of talent training, scientific research, and transformation of scientific research achievements. On the opening day of the ceremony, universities from Chongqing signed 3 cooperation agreements with domestic and international institutes.

    On 12th October, 2023, as one of the working sessions of the Conference, the ‘Biomedicine Working Meeting’ jointly organized by Chongqing Medical University and Southwest University was held on the Yuanjiagang Campus of Chongqing Medical University. 10 experts from China, the United States, Canada, Luxembourg and other countries delivered academic lectures, and both faculty and students from the two universities attended the lectures on-site and engaged in academic discussions.
