On the morning of July 10, the opening ceremony of the 10th "CQMU Study and Culture Tour ", hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office and the College of International Education of Chongqing Medical University, was successfully held in Room 316, the Second Teaching Building on the school’s Yuanjiagang Campus.
A total of 20 exchange students from the University of Antwerp in Belgium, the University of Strasbourg in France, the University of Alberta in Canada, Medical University of Pleven in Bulgaria, and the Swansea University in UK, together with volunteers from CQMU, will participate in the two-week Study & Culture Tour.
At the opening ceremony, Professor TIAN Jie, the Vice President of CQMU, extended a warm welcome to students from CQMU partner universities around the world. On behalf of the university. Professor TIAN hopes that they will have deeper understanding of China, a better perspective of Chongqing, and will enhance their understanding of the real China through CQMU’s Study & Culture Tour. He also hopes that the CQMU volunteers can cherish this opportunity to learn and communicate with the exchange students and make friends with them, as well as enhance cultural understanding, expand international their perspectives, and enhance their international communication abilities, so as to play a positive role in promoting cultural exchange and enhance mutual understanding between China and foreign countries.
Exchange students demonstrated a strong interest in traditional Chinese culture and the development of Chinese medicine, expressed sincere gratitude to CQMU for hosting this Study & Culture Tour, and looked forward to their journey in Chongqing for the next two weeks!
Before the opening ceremony, the exchange students visited the Yuanjiagang Campus of Chongqing Medical University. They started from the two newly-built innovation center buildings (Chongyi and Shangyi), read the pioneer's ode, and looked up to the bronze statue of QIAN De, the Chancellor of Chongqing Medical University and one of the experts who moved from Shanghai to Chongqing in 1950s. Then, they entered the library of Yuanjiagang Campus and experienced the convenience and enjoyment brought to the modern campus by using the digital library.
After the opening ceremony, the exchange students visited the First Affiliated Hospital of CQMU, experienced the hospital's clinical medical education and healthcare services, gained a deeper understanding of the hospital's innovative construction in diagnosis and treatment technology and clinical education, and obtained a comprehensive understanding of China's modern medical technology and overall medical level.
