    Vice Dean of NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine Visited CQMU

    From November 19 to 22, Professor Chen Zhi Xiong, Vice Dean of the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (NUS), visited CQMU to further strengthen the cooperation between the two institutions. During his visit, Prof. Chen participated in the 2024 International Conference on Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education Research and Application (Chongqing)  Biomedical Sciences Session.

    Prof. LIU Enmei, Vice President of CQMU, extended a warm welcome to Prof. Chen. Both sides discussed collaboration on joint medical talent training, academic exchanges, and other areas. They reached a consensus on initiating exchange programs for clinical medicine students, co-establishing the Chongqing Medical University-NUS Elite Medical Faculty Training Center, and advancing collaboration in pediatrics. Prof. HUA Ziyu, Director of the Children’s Hospital of CQMU, also held talks with Prof. Chen.

    In addition, Prof. Chen toured the history museum of the Children’s hospital, its simulation medical center, animal research center, and its neonatal ward, gaining an up-close understanding of the hospital’s management models and experiences in clinical practice, education, and research.

    On November 22, 2024, Prof. Chen, as an invited guest, attended the 2024 International Conference on Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education Research and Application (Chongqing) Biomedical Sciences Session, where he signed a cooperation agreement between NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and CQMU and delivered a keynote speech titled “The Future of Medical Education.”

    NUS is a public research university ranked 8th in the QS World University Rankings. The Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine is the first and largest medical school in Singapore, ranked 18th globally and 1st in Asia according to QS rankings. The signing of the cooperation agreement lays a solid foundation for further comprehensive and multi-level collaboration between the two universities, facilitating mutual learning and exchange between our university and a world-class institution. This visit by the leadership of NUS School of Medicine has deepened mutual understanding and strengthened the friendship between the two universities.
