In March 2025, Chongqing Medical University’s undergraduate programme in clinical medicine for international students (taught in English) successfully obtained certification from the Thai Medical Council for the first time at the council's third executive meeting of 2025. The certification is valid for five years (from 13 March 2025 to 12 March 2030).

This certification was led by the College of International Education with support from multiple departments. After repeated demonstrations and multi-round preparations, the application was submitted to the Thai Medical Council in June 2024. Following months of communication, material supplementation, and revisions, the certification process was completed successfully.

The undergraduate programme in clinical medicine for international students (taught in English) at CQMU was established in 2001. It was included in the Ministry of Education's project institutions list in 2007, making it one of the first 30 universities nationwide to enrol such students. To date, the programme has admitted approximately 1,788 international students from 54 countries and graduated 18 cohorts.

This certification marks a new breakthrough in our university's education for international students, demonstrates the international recognition of our medical education, and will further promote the diversification of our international student sources. In the future, the university will continue to enhance the quality of education for international students and strengthen its competitiveness in the field of international medical education, contributing more to building a global community of health for all.
