    CQMU Held The Conference and Training Session on Deep Integration of Artificial Intelligence and Education in Chongqing Undergraduate Universities

    On April 22, 2025, the Conference and Training Session on the Deep Integration of Artificial Intelligence and Education in Chongqing Undergraduate Universities took place at Chongqing Medical University. The event was hosted by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission and organized by the Chongqing Higher Education Association and Chongqing Medical University.

    During the first phase of the conference, Professor LIU Meng, Dean of the Undergraduate School of Chongqing University; Professor LIU Enmei, Vice President of Chongqing Medical University; Professor MENG Xiaojun, Vice President of Chongqing Normal University; Professor CHEN Qianbin, Vice President of Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications; and Professor ZHANG Ming, Deputy Party Secretary of Chongqing Jiaotong University, shared their respective institutions' practical experiences and achievements in integrating AI with education. Their presentations provided valuable insights and exemplary practices for attendees.

    Dr. ZHANG Dong, Deputy Director of the Higher Education Department of the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission, elaborated on the progress made by the commission in leveraging AI to empower education. He emphasized the need to adopt a higher perspective and more concrete measures to advance AI from "technological empowerment" to "paradigm transformation." Zhang highlighted three key focuses for AI-enabled education: renewing the work system, innovating professional development, and revitalizing core elements. He urged universities to ground their efforts in reality, fully recognize the existing challenges in the deep integration of AI and education, elevate their strategic understanding, and take pragmatic steps to ensure effective implementation.

    The second phase featured thematic training sessions led by experts including Professor WANG Meiling, Party Secretary of the School of Automation at Beijing Institute of Technology; Associate Professor XU Tong, a specially appointed expert in educational digitization at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications; Professor TAO Li from the Undergraduate School of Southwest University; LI Yangyang, Content Director of the Superstar Fanya Group; ZHANG Ning, Technical Lead of the XuetangX Platform at Tsinghua University; YANG Qing, Chief Solutions Expert at Huaqiyun; LI Zhenghua, National Director of Digital Higher Education at NetEase Youdao Smart Education; and WU Fuping, Deputy General Manager of China Education Online-Beijing Higher Education Science and Technology Co., Ltd. Their reports focused on practical experiences and challenges in AI-enabled educational reform, offering in-depth analysis of key issues in AI-powered undergraduate curriculum development and application, which greatly inspired participants.

    The offline conference was attended by over 240 representatives, including vice presidents in charge of academic affairs, heads of academic offices, and faculty members from 26 undergraduate universities in Chongqing. Additionally, more than 1,200 participants joined via online live streaming.
