On July 24th, a delegation from Burkina Faso, led by Prof. ZONGO Nayi, Head of the Cancer Center of Burkina Faso’s Ministry of Health, visited Chongqing Medical University. Prof. LIU Enmei, Vice President of CQMU, met with the delegation on behalf of the university. Ms. WANG Yu, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges and Dean of the College of International Education, attended the meeting.

Prof. LIU extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced to our university. She highlighted CQMU’s medical education for African countries , expressing the university’s willingness to explore potential opportunities for cooperation with universities and medical institutions in Burkina Faso.
Prof. WANG Lianglan, Vice Dean of the College of International Education, outlined CQMU’s International education of the University. Ms. ZHANG Mi, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, introduced the short-term clinical training programmes with overseas partners.


Prof. ZONGO thanked CQMU for the warm welcome and highly praised the university’s achievements in medical education. He showed great interest in promoting cooperation between the universities and hospitals in Burkina Faso and CQMU, expecting to facilitate students and medical professionals studying in Chongqing.

The visit is expected to enhance win-win education collaboration between CQMU and institutions in African countries, and contribute to the global community of health for all.
The delegation also visited the First Affiliated Hospital of CQMU, accompanied by its Vice President Prof. ZHANG Dan.
Burkina Faso is a landlocked country in western Africa. The capital, Ouagadougou, is in the centre of the country and lies about 500 miles (800 km) from the Atlantic Ocean. French and English are designated as working languages.
