RESEARCH INTERESTS
The main research field of Prof. Xiao is patient safety, older medical care integration, nursing education, assistive devices rehabilitation and so on. He has been regarded as a pioneer in patient safety in China. He has been engaged in research in the field of patient safety for a long time, promoted the development of patient safety in China, committed to patient safety research, education and practice, took the lead in setting up "patient safety" courses in China, led the development of patient safety goals, established the first "patient safety" official account in China, popularized patient safety knowledge, and participated in WHO patient safety policy formulation on behalf of China for many times, And was awarded the Special Contribution Expert for Patient Safety in China. He is a "promoter" of nursing reform, advocating for five heart care and building a first-class and excellent team in China. He is a "explorer" of the integration of medical care and elderly care. Chongqing Qinggang Elderly Care Center has become a model of the integration of medical care and elderly care in China. He is a "guide" for medical students and young teachers, dedicated to the frontline of rescue and research, and a role model for teaching and educating people. He is the "rebel" of emergencies, leading the Chongqing medical team to the first Yingxiu earthquake relief, and leading the national medical team to rescue Wuhan to fight against the COVID-19.
Led over 30 projects, including the National Key R&D Plan and the Ministry of Science and Technology Support Plan, with a total R&D fund of over 55 million. I have spoken 5 times at the International Patient Safety Exchange Seminar and won the second prize of the Chongqing Science and Technology Progress Award and the Chongqing Teaching Achievement Award. I am known as the "Special Contribution Expert for Patient Safety in China" and the "Top Ten Ideological Experts in Hospital Management". It founded the first "patient safety" WeChat official account in China, participated in and presided over the research, preparation and interpretation of the patient safety goals of the Chinese Hospital Association, took the lead in opening patient safety courses in China, compiled more than 40 teaching aids, obtained more than 10 patents, trained more than 60 graduate students, actively promoted the education and teaching of patient safety, nursing, and medical and nursing integration, vigorously advocated the patient safety culture, and promoted the development of patient safety in China.
