RESEARCH INTERESTS
Professor Gan, doctoral supervisor of Chongqing Medical University, was selected as an innovative leader of Chongqing Talent Plan, awarded the title of the third batch of Chongqing Academic and Technical Leaders. Professor Gan has been engaged in research on emergency and intensive nursing. Her research won the Science and Technology Award of the CNA in 2021. The ICU Patient Physical Restraint Assessment Scale that she developed was recognized by the association and used to establish China’s first nursing standard for the physical restraint of inpatients (T/CNAS 04-2019), which has improved clinical nursing practices for ICU patients who require restraints and has strengthened medical workers’respect for patients. Professor Gan has undertaken 21 research projects, including Chongqing Natural Science Foundation and Chongqing Science and Health joint Medical Research Project in China , and published over 100 papers in domestic and international academic journals, among which 15 SCI articles were published on high level journals,such as Internatinal Journal of Nursing Studies. Professor Gan has been honourably appointed as Chairman of the Emergency Nursing Professional Committee of Chinese Nursing Association in 2023.
Professor Gan is actively involved in the creation of internet-based curricula and education reform. She has participated in the compilation of 11 textbooks. Professor Gan prepared a course on evidence-based nursing and launched it on the SPOC (Small Private Online Course) platform of the Alliance of Graduate School of Medical Universities in China. She established a standardized training system for new nurses that was adopted by the Chongqing Health Commission and applied by 32 hospitals in the city. Chongqing has become a pilot city for the standardized training of new nurses in China. Professor Gan took the lead again by applying for 8 national specialist nurse training bases, 21 Chongqing specialist training bases and 3 technical training bases. She has trained thousands of specialist nurses at more than 100 hospitals and focused on cultivating high-level compound nursing talent and case manager training in western China. Her innovative nursing practices have taken root in the region, with the Chongqing government honoring her as an Outstanding Talent and supporting her research.
