Dr. Xiao’s research endeavors focus on Health Economics, Health Policy and Development Economics. Currently, Dr. Xiao’s main research projects involve: 

1.  Inequality of Opportunity in Health and Health Care, including intergenerational inequality in health 
2.  Health Reforms in China (Urban-Rural Social Health Insurance Consolidation, Healthy Migration Phenomenon) and the long term effects on health
3.  Early Life Experience and the Long Term Health Outcomes
4. Quality of life and patient-reported outcome measures
