WORKING EXPERIENCE
1988.07-present: School of Public Health and Management, Chongqing Medical University, Teaching Assistant\Lecturer\Associate Professor\Professor.

 

Chen Yu is a professor and research supervisor (master program) of the School of Public Health at Chongqing Medical University, where she has been teaching preventive medicine、occupational health and health management (including lifestyle management and chronic disease management) in the past over 30 years. She is a member of the 8th Occupational Health Standards Committee at the National Health Commission, and also a vice chairman of the first health management committee of chongqing health promotion and health education association.


 Professor Chen has presided over more than 10 scientific research projects. She has published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles and authored seven books (associate editor for two books), including “Health Education - Teachers Reference Book”, "Occupational Health and Occupational Medicine (Cases Version)" and “Clinical Preventive Medicine”.

 

Professor Chen won as the third prize of Scientific and Technological Advancement in Sichuan Province as a chief investigator for a project entitled "Occupational Stress and Work Ability Evaluation". Her publication "The Relationship between Occupational Stress and Work Ability in White-collar Workers " won the third prize awarded by Chongqing Science and Technology Commission. In September, 2012, her project "Health Trend of Students in a Primary school in Chongqing Between 2009 and 2011" obtained Technological Innovation and Chronic Disease Management Academic Innovation Award in the 14th Annual Meeting of the National Science Association.

 

Professor Chen was invited to participate as a facilitator at a health promotion capacity building leadership programme (ProLead) from September 2014 to July 2015.  'ProLead' is a health  promotion leadership program developed by WHO Western Pacific Regional Office(WPRO). This was the first time the program had been conducted in China, and the first time the program had been extended to include health reform, as well as health promotion.

At the beginning of 2016, she started hosting the project of "Study on Spa therapy (balneotherapy) and human health".

Professor Chen has a longstanding interest in health promotion.
