BRIEF BIOGRAPHY

Professor, Associated Chief Physician, Doctoral Supervisor, Postdoctoral Cooperative Supervisor

Prof. Tao CHEN is the winner of the National Natural Science Foundation for Excellent Young Scholars, Chongqing Outstanding Youth, Chongqing Talents·Leading Talents in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Chongqing Young and Middle-aged Medical High-end Talents, Chongqing "Bayu Scholars" Young Scholars, and now is appointed as Distinguished Professor of Chongqing Medical University. Prof. Tao CHEN obtained his doctorate degree from West China School of Stomatology, Sichuan University in June 2016, under the supervision of Professor Hu Jing. During his doctoral studies, he was sent to Stanford University Medical Center for joint training by Chinese National Scholarship Council. In the joint training stage he was under the tutelage of Professor Jill Helms, a well-known scholar in stem cell research. Since July 2016, Prof. Tao CHEN has served as professor, researcher (senior), deputy chief physician, and doctoral supervisor in the Department of Implantology, Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Chongqing Medical University.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Prof. Tao CHEN and his research group are currently committed to the research of implant dentistry and the development of cranio-maxillofacial regeneration materials. Furthermore, Prof. Tao CHEN has an interest in the pathogenesis and treatment of peri-implant inflammation under pathological conditions.

Prof. Tao CHEN has co-hosted 11 national, provincial and ministerial level scientific research projects till now, including 3 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 4 talent projects such as the Chongqing Natural Science Foundation Outstanding Youth Project, 1 China Postdoctoral Project Funding project, and Chongqing Municipal Science and Technology Commission 1 general project, 1 Chongqing Municipal Postdoctoral Special Funding (First Class) project and 1 Chongqing Municipal Education Commission science and technology project.

Up to now, Dr.Tao CHEN, as the first author or corresponding author, has published 25 papers on SCI collected journals, among which the highest impact factor is 30.85. The research results were extensively reported by technological media platform such as "Wiley China", "Materials Views"(2019) and "Chemistry and Materials Science" (2021). As the main participant, he won the third prize of the Chinese Stomatological Association Science and Technology Award in 2020, the first prize of Chongqing Medical Association Science and Technology Award in 2020 as well as other academic honors. In addition, he has been invited to  participate and make conference speeches or poster presentations in the "2019 International Conference on Biomaterials (Australia·Brisbane)", "The 28th European Conference on Osteointegration (Portugal·Lisbon, 2020)", "The 12th Annual Conference of implant dentistry of the Chinese Stomatological Association (Fujian·Xiamen, 2021)" etc.
