    CQMU Holds the Ninth “Liangjiang Medical Frontier” Forum

    On 15 May, 2025, the ninth “Liangjiang Medical Frontier” Forum was held in the Innovation Centre-Shangyi of Chongqing Medical University. Vice President LI Huabin attended the forum and delivered a speech. The forum was hosted by the Scientific Research Management Office, aiming to further promote academic exchanges and cooperation and enhance the university’s research level.

Professor YANG HU, a tenured professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Stanford University, gave an academic report titled “CNS Axon Degeneration and Regeneration: Viewing through Optic Nerve”.

    Professor FENG Xinhua, a Qiushi Chair Professor at Zhejiang University, gave an academic report titled “Deciphering the Paradox of TGF-β in Cancer: SMAD4 Phosphorylation Code Determines Cancer Cell Response to TGF-β”. The report covered the past, present, and future of TGF-β research and systematically reviewed the trajectory of research in this field.

    The holding of this “Liangjiang Medical Frontier” Forum built an efficient communication platform for experts, scholars and teachers and students both inside and outside the university. It promoted the cross-integration of multidisciplinary knowledge, from discussing hotspots in basic research to sharing experiences in clinical technology transfer. The collision of ideas and analysis of practical cases at the forum effectively pushed the coordinated development of medical research and clinical work and provided valuable learning opportunities for young scientific researchers.
