Chongqing Medical University (CQMU) hosted the Chongqing–Singapore Medical Education Workshop for Leadership in Health Professions in partnership with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (NUS Medicine) from 27 to 29 September on the Yuanjiagang Campus. The Workshop aimed to strengthen international collaboration in medical education and to advance CQMU's high-quality development under the Double First-Class initiative, thereby enhancing its global profile. The Workshop was co-organised by the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges and the College of Continuing Education.
Vice President LIU Enmei presided over the Workshop and delivered remarks at the closing ceremony, while WANG Yu, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, and HU Huafeng, Dean of the College of Continuing Education, co-chaired the opening session.


On behalf of the University, VP LIU Enmei extended a warm welcome to the delegation from NUS Medicine, led by Prof LAU Tang Ching, Vice-Dean (Education) of the NUS Medicine and Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. Aimed at nurturing globally minded healthcare professionals, the Workshop sought to contribute to the improvement of regional healthcare. Lecturers and participants came together to learn from one another and exchange perspectives. Their lively interactions and shared commitment reflected a common goal: to drive advancement in medical education, cultivate excellence in medical training, and help build a global community of health for all.

Following the opening ceremony, Prof LAU Tang Ching delivered a keynote lecture titled "Enhanced Curriculum – How and Why the Curriculum change?" in which he outlined NUS Medicine's pioneering experiences in curriculum renewal and its innovative development of the NUS Common Curriculum for Healthcare Professional Education.



During the thematic sessions, Prof KOH Dow Rhoon, Director of International Relations at NUS Medicine, presented "Ranking&Quality", offering an in-depth analysis of global ranking indicators and their limitations, while emphasising the importance of focusing on quality enhancement and evidence-based management. Dr Dujeepa SAMARASEKERA, Senior Director of the Centre for Medical Education, shared insights in his lecture "What is world class? Future world class definition + culturalidentity", highlighting NUS Medicine's best practices in developing world-class curricula. Prof CHEN Zhi Xiong, Assistant Dean (Education), gave a talk titled "Conneetedness & student support", sharing NUS's experience in student services, academic management, and support structures.
Following the lectures, the NUS Medicine teaching team, including Adj Prof LAU Tang Ching, Assoc Prof KOH Dow Rhoon, Dr Dujeepa SAMARASEKERA, Prof CHEN Zhi Xiong, Dr LEE Shuh Shing(Senior Associate Director, Centre for Medical Education), and Dr Han Ting Jillian YEO (Medical Educationalist), led participants through a three-day series of interactive workshops featuring case analyses, scenario simulations, and group discussions.
