    Views:

Chongqing Medical University (CQMU) has achieved excellent results in the 2025 quality accreditation for international student education recently announced by the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE). CQMU secured a Grade B in the Quality Accreditation for International Student Higher Education (Re-accreditation), valid for six years. Additionally, it obtained a Grade B in the initial Quality Accreditation for the Undergraduate Clinical Medicine Programme (English Medium Instruction), valid for five years.

CQMU received high commendation from the accreditation expert panel, ranking first among universities in Chongqing. It also remains at the forefront of similar institutions nationwide. These outcomes reflect CQMUs dedication to international medical education in recent years. Furthermore, it marks CQMUs comprehensive strength as a pioneer in western China.

Since launching the dual accreditation initiative in April 2024, the CQMU Party Committee has attached great importance to the project. A steering group and special task force were established to foster collaboration across all departments and colleges, creating a unified strategic framework.

Adhering to the principle of promoting development, reform, management, and strength through assessment, CQMU implemented a red-amber-green traffic light mechanism. The system facilitated the precise identification and resolution of over 80 critical issues, covering operating conditions, institutional frameworks, English teaching resources, community practice, and the homogenisation of clinical internships. This meticulous preparation laid a solid foundation for the smooth advancement of the accreditation process.

From May to September 2025, CQMU systematically advanced its work, encompassing mock accreditations, material submissions, specialised training, and preparations for the evaluation visit. On 15–16 October, CQMU underwent an on-site review by the expert panel. CQMUs achievements were displayed through presentations, documentation reviews, interviews with students and faculty, lecture observations, and campus tours.

Throughout the accreditation process, the entire CQMU community united to overcome challenges. The institution continuously optimised mechanisms, deepened teaching reforms, and refined service management. It also proactively built a convergent education and management system for Chinese and international students, driving the continuous improvement of education quality for international students.

CQMU holds the titles of Ministry of Education Demonstration Base for Studying in China, National Advanced Collective for International Student Education, and Chongqing Model University for International Student Work. Consequently, this dual accreditation results act as pivotal support for the Universitys Double First-Class development. CQMU will take this opportunity to consolidate accreditation outcomes and deepen quality-oriented development, continuously forging the high-quality Study at CQMU brand. It is dedicated to establishing a centre for international medical education in western China, contributing its strength to the opening up of education and global exchange in medical education.
