December 25th, 2024, is the day when the people of Papua New Guinea celebrate the New Year with their families. On that day, Dr. SHI Hui from the Department of Neurosurgery of affiliated Yongchuan Hospital faced a test of ‘life and death’ emergency treatment at the General Hospital of Port Moresby. Dr. SHI Hui devised a surgical plan and carried out a successful craniotomy on the patient. The operation was total success and the patient was rescued from critical condition. This episode demonstrates the technical proficiency and consistent diligence of the Chinese medical community. This event was reported in the national newspaper PNG Post Daily (January 8th edition).
