College of Nursing

College of Nursing (CN), though founded in 2006, has inherited 40-year's history of nursing education from original Nursing School of Chongqing Medical University. The College is among the first batch of universities that are granted by the Ministry of Eduction to confer doctoral degree of Nursing. It has a mobile post-doctoral research station.

In 2010, one of the disciplines of the college was approved as a National Specialized Discipline. In 2013, it became one of the first batch of universities of Specialty Comprehensive Reform Pilot Institutions of the Ministry of Education, passed the Nursing Professional Certification of the Ministry of Education and was approved as a Specialty Construction Institution of Chongqing. In 2014, it was approved as a nursing specialty construction site of Chongqing Public Health Service and Health Promotion Discipline Group. In 2018, it was among the universities with first-class professional projects in Chongqing Higher Education Institutions.

The College now possesses 5 doctoral supervisors and 50 master supervisors, all of whom are competent and professionally qualified. Some faculties won Nightingale Award,  were members of the Nursing Teaching Advisory Board of the Ministry of Education and were National Excellent Nurses. The college hires excellent doctors and nurses from affliated hospitals of Chongqing Medical University to deliver courses. And it has advanced facilities, plenty of clinical resources and unique advantages.

The College enrolls 600 undergraduates and 40 graduates annually. There are approximately 2,300 full-time students and over 1,100 part-time students.
